形容詞と副詞の直前に too を使用します。

This coffee is too sweet.

Not: This coffee is too much sweet .

I can’t sleep. It’s too hot.

It happened too quickly, so I just didn’t see it.

Not: It happened too much quickly 。

The car was travelling too fast and went out of control.

The water was too cold to swim in.

Two hours is too long to wait .

多かれ少なかれ十分な量について話したいときは、名詞の前に too little too much, too many, too few 。

There’s too much salt in this soup. ( too much + 不可算名詞)

There were too many dogs on the beach. ( too many + 可算名詞)

I don’t like this book because there are too few pictures in it. ( too few + 可算名詞; 形式的というよりも I don’t like this book because there aren’t enough pictures in it です。)

The trip was cancelled because there was too little interest in it. ( too little + 不可算名詞)

強調するため much と far を too と一緒に使うことができます。 Far too も much too 強い：

形容詞や副詞を強調するため very を使用しますが、 too と同じ意味ではありません。

私たちはしばしば like, dislike, hope, doubt などの動詞を強調するため very much よく使います。これらの動詞では、このように too much 使用しません。

I like it very much because I got it from my husband.

の： I like it too much …

I doubt very much that Ronan will be able to come to the party.

ない: I doubt too much that …
