【So】の意味、使い方について詳しく説明! 英文法基礎
So +形容詞（ so difficult ）、 so +副詞（ so slowly ）
「非常に」という意味で so をよく使います。この意味で、形容詞や他の副詞を修飾する so 副詞も同様です。
Using that camera is easy. Why is she making it so difficult?
Why is she so untidy?
I’m sorry I’m walking so slowly. I’ve hurt my ankle.
It doesn’t always work out so well.
また、「非常に、非常に」を意味する強調語として so を使用します。
That motorway is so dangerous. Everyone drives too fast.

So 代用として

特に話すときは、 believe 、 say, tell, hear, read などの報告動詞を含む短い応答で、前の位置で so を使用することがあります。

so は be と一緒に、法助動詞と一緒に使います 「同じように」、「同様に」、「あまりにも」を意味します。特に代名詞主語の短い応答で、動詞の繰り返しを避けるために使用します。このように so を使用する場合、動詞と主語を反転し、主動詞を繰り返さない ( so + 動詞 [= v] + 主語 [= s]):
Geoff is a very good long-distance runner and so [V] is [S] his wife .
A:What are you doing tonight?
B:I’ve got loads of exam marking to do and I’m staying at home 。
A:So [V] am [S] I です。

また、否定的な意味を与えたい場合は、 not … either 、 nor or neither とも使用しません。
A:I don’t think she’ll be coming to the party .

I got here late. It was a long journey, so I’m really tired now.

They both went on a diet so that they could play more football with their friends.

So far は「今まで」という意味です。
So far we have kept the news within the family.
is that so ? という表現を使います。驚きや疑念を表明する場合:
