好みの表現
私たちは、あることや活動が他のことよりも好きだと言うことを prefer ます。 2 つのものまたはアクションを比較するときに、 to を使用して前置詞句を使用できます。
I prefer tea to coffee.
We prefer going by ferry to flying.
私たちは、 prefer の後 than 使用しません:
She prefers books to magazines.
否定: She prefers books than magazines です。
choose の後 to 不定詞または -ing フォームを使用でき prefer 。 to 不定詞の方が一般的です。
She’s not keen on coffee. She prefers to drink tea. (または、 She は coffee より drinking tea to 飲む prefers です。)
Would prefer
現在および将来の好みについて話す場合は、 would prefer または ‘d prefer に続けて to 不定詞または名詞を使用します。
I ‘d prefer to go by myself.
Would you prefer a quieter restaurant?
She ‘d prefer not to drive at night.
あることを別のこと rather than もやりたいと言いたいときは、2 番目のことを not で導入し、その後に to なしで不定詞を付けること to ます。
I’d prefer to go skiing this year rather than go on a beach holiday.
他の人の行動に対する好みについて話しているときは、 would prefer + オブジェクト代名詞 + to 不定詞を使用できます。または would prefer it if + past simple:
They ‘d prefer us to come later. (または、 we came later 方が They ‘d prefer it if 。)
Would you prefer me to drive? （または I drove? prefer it if がいいです Would you ）
典型的なエラー

to なしの不定詞ではなく、 prefer の後に to 不定詞を使用 to ます。
I prefer to drive.
否定: I prefer drive ます。
Whenever I have time I like to read but I prefer not to read in the evening.
いいえ: …でも but I prefer not read in the evening 。
