to have + 動詞の -ed 形で完全不定詞を形成します。完全不定詞を使う claim, expect, hate, hope などの動詞の後に , like , love , prefer, pretend :

He pretended to have lost her number and so had been unable to contact her. (または彼は彼女の電話番号 that he had lost した He pretended をした her number … )

完了不定詞は、多くの場合、過去に起こった可能性のあることを指します。

She claims to have met a number of famous people, but I don’t believe her. (または彼女は she has met She claims し … )

I would prefer to have stayed at a small, family-run hotel than a big international chain. （私は小さなホテルに滞在することを好みますが、しませんでした。）

完全不定詞は、将来のある時点で完了するものを指すことができます。

We hope to have finished the building works by the end of March.

主語を持たない動詞を含む節 (非限定節) では、完全不定詞を使用できます。過去に実際に起こった出来事、または起こったかもしれない（しかし起こらなかった）出来事を指すことができます：

To have got the job in the face of such stiff competition was a great achievement. （その人は仕事を得た。）

To have won the race would have been fantastic, but even coming second was a great achievement. （その人はレースに勝てませんでした。）
