英文法基礎：数字(number)について説明
number という単語を使用するときは、特定の数字を指します。
Here’s the phone number of the firm where she works.
She plays in the local hockey team and wears the number six.
また、「多くの」または「いくつかの」を意味する場合、複数動詞とともに a a number of 、 numbers of または the number of というフレーズを使用します。
There are a number of things we need to discuss.
A significant number of people are ill with flu so the performance had to be cancelled.
Large numbers of bees have died because of the cold summer.
I couldn’t believe the number of cars that were parked outside the hall.
数字: first 番目、 second 、 third
first, second 、 third などの数字は序数です。私たちはそれらを使って物事を整理します。最も一般的には序数を決定子として使用します。序数を (名詞の前に) 限定子として使用する場合、冠詞 ( a/an 、 the ) や所有格 ( my 、 your ) などの他の限定詞をそれらの前に使用するのが一般的です。

It’s her twenty-first birthday and she’s spending it with friends in Malaysia.

one, five, eleven, two hundred などの数字は基数です。最も一般的には基数を決定子として (名詞の前に) 使用します。このように使用すると、冠詞 ( a/an 、 the ) や所有格 ( my 、 your ) などの他の限定子を前に使用できます。決定子 of 前に基数 + を使用できます ( one of my friends ):

多数
私たちは通常 a hundred, a thousand, a million と言います。数を強調したい場合にのみ one hundred, one thousand と言い one million 。

100, 200, 1,000 などの数値は、それらを決定子として使用 s 場合、複数形を取らない:

1,000 以上の長い数字を 1,000 の部分ごとに区切るために、コンマをよく使用します。
